“Taking the twelve disciples aside, Jesus said, ‘Listen, we are going to Jerusalem, where all the predictions of the prophets concerning Me will come true. ….. But they didn’t understand anything He was telling them. The significance of His words was hidden from them, and they failed to grasp what He was talking about.” Lk.18:31-34 (However, they remembered this later)
God talks with us all the time if we are interacting with Him with our RCs (relational circuits) on. However, once in a while God will “take me aside” and talk to me, giving me a “word” about what He will be doing that will have an affect on me. I will never fully understand the significance or total impact that this “word” will have on me until it comes to pass and until I am mature enough to see the “word” as He sees it. We call this God-sight. The “word” can be straight from scripture; a prophetic word given within my hearing; It can be in the form of a dream or vision; and God being God can use any other form He may choose to deliver His “word” to me.
The “word” is alive; Meaning, it will come to pass. One of the most impactful “words” I have ever received came to me when I was a child living in South America. It came to me from scripture as I was sitting on my bed reading my little New Testament. I marked it with a red pencil wondering what it all meant and then zipped up my New Testament and put it back into my pocket. Over the decades, seasons, and days of my life this “word” has played out over and over in various ways. Currently, this “word” is being carried out in this time and “day” with me writing to you some of the words He is giving me!
The “word” given me is found in Ephesians 2:10 “For I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, that God has prepared in advance for me to do!”
Ultimately, the “Word” became flesh and lived among us and is currently living in me! I now ask Him regularly; “Am I doing good? Am I doing a good job with the good work you are having me do? I love to hear; “Well done! You are doing good!”
