As an Infant I am learning how to receive the blessings being offered to me. I learn how to ask for blessings from my parents. I learn to be thankful.
As a child I learn how to recognize the worth of what I am being offered and I begin to learn how to share with others how they can receive their blessings; this includes the blessings offered to me from God. I can loudly sing one of our current scripture songs, of which there are many : “The Lord bless you and keep you, may His Face shine upon you and give you peace …..”
As an adult I begin to learn how to bless my partner and close friend as they bless me in return. I can now sing the old Hymn: “Make me a blessing, make me a blessing, out of my life may Jesus shine….. Make me a blessing to someone today.”
As a parent I am NOW a blessing to those in my care and family. Even if they are not a real blessing to me. This is a vast area that covers finances, time, the daily living example that I show, which is on full display in front of my family in every area of life. I am a Living Blessing!
As an elder I am a blessing to my community and the world around me. I have received and continue to receive blessings from God. I now CONTINUALLY pass those blessings to all those around me. The blessing of wisdom is shared. The blessing of access to the guidance of the Holy Spirit is freely given. The gentle protection of our Heavenly Father is on full display in my prayers and actions.
It is interesting to note that since the vast majority of our population are at an infant and child level of Relational Maturity, we have a serious lack of those who are Living Blessings in our communities and nation. “Lord, help me mature as I put away childish ways and become a vibrant Living Blessing to my generation.!!! AMEN (so be it)
