A society without God as the Supreme Leader is destined to fail. The denigration of society is accelerated when those in the society do not mature relationally, but remain as infants and children.
The vast majority of our society today is made up of relational infants and children. This segment is encouraged to remain as infants and children by letting them be and tolerating their childish behaviors. They are fairly easily controlled by continually giving them what all they want and feel entitled to. So there are a lot of spoiled infants and children. Their main focus is obtaining all the “free” finances, food, grants, and housing that they can obtain. There is no real thought of working and providing for others . The emphasis as an infant is on me and you owe it to me due to a huge variety of reasons. I pretty much live in a make believe world. Freedom for me means that I don’t need to do anything, and you give me everything I want.
Certain politicians like this large group of people because they are fairly easy to control. I just get them what they want and they will always be there and stand in line to receive what they want to meet their needs. In keeping them as relational children and infants, they will never be self sufficient. There is no real order in this society but there is a lot of yelling and complaining when I don’t get what I want.
The other large portion of society is composed of relational children and adults. This segment believes that every person should carry their own weight and should mature into adults where I am not dependent on someone else but am free to pursue life without being dependent on any one else. They enjoy giving to others, but do not appreciate being taken advantage of. Freedom for this portion of society means that I am free to pursue and be whatever I set my mind and energy to.
This portion of society is not easily controlled because they are independent and not dependent. They are self sufficient and creative. Due to their independence, there is often not a solid order as everyone goes their own ways. However they like common sense and enjoy good decisions that benefit everyone. It is an easy step from here to maturing into a relationally mature parent where it is enjoyable to be life giving.
There is a third portion of society that is largely overlooked. However, this portion has been the stabilizing force for centuries. This is called the family unit concept which meets everyone’s needs and freedoms and builds solid community. There is definite order in this concept. There are infants, children, adults, parents, and elders. They live in community where infants and children are not the leaders. Adults and parents enjoy the productivity of providing and lovingly caring for those in the community. Parents also provide proper correction as needed and the essential relational connection to God. Elders are looked to with respect for the wisdom and gentle protection they provide for their family and community. Freedom here means that I enjoy being in and moving through each maturity level and when I become a parent, I start a new family unit within the family community as a whole. Sadly, this family concept is a small minority in today’s American society. And as a result, chaos is rampant in many of our larger cities where relationally immature infants and children run wild.
