God has designed our entire life on this planet as transitory. Nothing is permanent, although I try to make it that way. Especially as relational adults, I see a physical kingdom here on earth and I spend most all of my working years DOING and attempting to set up the kingdom I envision. I attempt to secure my earthly kingdom by setting up perpetual trusts, preserves, reserves, sources of income, indestructible structures and organizations. I set up administrative structure that revolves around my children and relatives …… As much as I would like it to last forever, I know that it won’t ….. It all will eventually be dust to dust and rust to rust and ashes to ashes and all my earthly treasures end up in the trashes or are hacked by thieves.
So, who am I and what am I supposed to be doing here on this planet? Is it all pie in the sky by and by? Those who don’t know God and are lost in their way of life, attempt to numb the pain and just party for the day. As one of those who knows God and have His Spirit living within me, I eventually realize, as I mature, that I am here on this earth on assignment. These are daily assignments. Many are very small and seem insignificant, but they are a cup of cool water on a hot day….
If I am a relational “infant” or “child”, I will be consumed about me and my turn. As a relationally mature parent I see and want to have relational connections that benefit you, those around me on a daily basis, and the ones who Jesus brings into my path and life today. My solid, unwavering, always there, always loving connection today, is Jesus, in the form of His Holy Spirit. I merely pass His Spirit on to those around me!
Jesus, Thank You for my daily assignments today and for the places and people where I can pour out Your Love!
