Acts 3 gives us the story of Peter and John boldly healing the lame man on the temple steps. Then they were arrested by the priests for not following protocol and for using the name of Jesus.
Acts 4:21 “On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. (We have been doing what You told us to do and people are being healed. But we are being threatened by some to tone it down because we are not properly educated. We have been boldly proclaiming the Name of Jesus who is the Life Giving Healer.) “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken, And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. All the believers were one in heart and mind.” Acts4:23-32
Taking you back now 2 weeks ago to my house at 4am as I am on my bed in the 3rd story upper room talking with the Lord. Searching… things are changing … You are changing things … What should I do? Where do I fit? ….. Why haven’t I been bold? … I feel I have been held back … I want to be effective and totally Yours. What do You have in mind for me??
Suddenly there was this intensity in the air and my bed started shaking…. Startled, I sprang from my bed to see what was going on … out on my deck my intensity subsided because I could see that nothing was swaying, everything was totally calm and totally silent….. strange….. and then I noticed I had no anxiety and there was total peace!! You know.. That shaking was some activity by the Holy Spirit ….. Something left my room ….. And as I walked back into my room I realized that Jesus is here in the room!!!!
Jesus now is very real to me and I have become bold. Truth comes out of my mouth that I didn’t think up. Those controlled by evil don’t make me anxious. Fear is gone and that anxiousness isn’t with me. I know my paths for the day are directed by Jesus. We talk a lot! Proverbs 28:1 tells us that the righteous are as bold as a lion. One of the signs that we have the Holy Spirit within us is that we are BOLD in proclaiming Jesus!!
