The few who ….. Who are the few? …. What do the few do? …. What do the few not do? ….. “Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God. Gen.6:9 Enoch lived in close fellowship with God …. Enoch lived 365 years, walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him.” Gen5:22,23 Moses, Daniel, Samuel, David, Elijah, Jesus, Paul …… Scripture is filled with stories of the few!
The few do not do what most everyone else does. The few do not do what most other Christians do. The few do not operate out of fear. The few do not do life operating under BEEPS. The few do not go their own way. The few do not live for pleasure. The few do not remain relational infants and children.
The few have some common characteristics. The most common characteristic is that they continually walk in close fellowship with God. They walk openly blameless. They are relationally mature parents. Their prayers are answered. They correctly proclaim the truth through word and deed. They operate out of Love. They live for the joy in the perfection process of following Jesus.
Jesus called a few. Am I one of the few? As I respond and follow Him, life is not boring. Things continually happen and my eyes are opened to see Him in little things every day. I see myself maturing and my capacity rapidly expanding. He continually purifies and refines me. I hear Him talking to and with me about what He is doing in different situations. I then agree with Him and pray into that He is doing. And I see the answers! Most around me don’t see and hear what I am hearing and seeing. I begin to realize that I am one of the few. But that is OK because I am living the joy of life with Jesus!
