“I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.” Ps. 16:7-9
I often come to the end of my day and am literally dead tired. I finally have some quiet without anyone wanting to claim some of my time. I love the Lord and want to spend some meaningful time with Jesus and listen to what He may be wanting to share with me. But, as I slow down and physically stop my activities, I start to nod off and my mind is saying “I’m done navigating through the issues of the day.”
I have no need to worry or feel that I am slighting Him. David, in this Psalm, reminds me that even at night God is downloading thoughts and mental processes to me! So, I can just relax and cuddle up with Jesus and fall asleep in the restful joy of His presence! It is a good night!!
