“IF you make the Lord your refuge, IF you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For He will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands…. The Lord says ‘I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name. When they call on Me, I will answer. I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them My salvation.’” Ps. 91:9-16
“I have taken refuge in the Lord. So, how can you say to me, ‘Flee to the hills like a bird because the wicked are after us and have already bent their bows and strung their arrows, ready to secretly shoot those whose heart is right’? When the very bottom of things falls out, what can I as a righteous person possibly accomplish (if I decide to take matters into my own hands and leave the refuge of the Lord)”? Ps.11:1-3
“Remember, the Lord is always in His holy temple (our refuge). He is the Lord (the One in control). He is on His throne (the place of authority), and He is always watching and sees all that goes on. And His vision examines all of humanity; both the righteous and the wicked. His very being hates those who love violence. God will rain down fiery coals and sulfur on the wicked; their lives will be filled with nothing but a scorching hot wind because He is righteous (and that is what the wicked deserve).” Ps.11:4-6
Because the Lord is righteous, He loves righteous deeds (that come from a righteous heart). Since my heart is right, I will see God’s face smiling on me as I make the Lord my refuge, and as I make the Most High my shelter! Ps.11:7
