“You are my people. I have rescued you and saved you. I have chosen you to be my servants. I am the Lord your God.” (Here is the deal; I rescue you, save you, heal you, provide for you and bless you with safety, abundance and peace. In exchange, you are my servants.) Lev. 25:55 Jesus upgraded this to; “I no longer call you servants, you are my friends because you now have a say in what we do. However, I am still in charge and you are under my authority.” We work together to accomplish all the tasks for the day. John 15:13-17
So ….. God’s people are those He has rescued and saved from certain eternal death. (commonly known as Christians) Having been rescued by Him, I am now His servant and that is how He sees me. Jesus doesn’t send me off on my own to do servant tasks. As my friend, Jesus walks with me and leads me as we do all the servant tasks He has for me each day. So, Jesus looks at my saved heart and sees me as His servant friend. This is God-sight. What God sees is the actual truth.
As a RM “child” I do not see myself as a servant, I don’t want to be a servant and I don’t want to be told what to do. I want to do things my way. As a RM “adult” I am busy building my kingdom along with my family and I don’t have time to be a servant for Jesus. I am having a hard enough time just keeping my act together. Hopefully someone else will do the tasks He needs done. As a RM “infant” I don’t even know what’s going on except that someone else is supposed to be taking care of me. I don’t take care of any thing or any body. It isn’t until I reach RM “parenthood” do I realize that I need help and I can’t do all this on my own no matter how hard I try. At this point, being a servant, and not the leader in charge is way more comforting and less stressful. Jesus, I need you, every hour I need you. I will follow, I will gladly follow You! As a RM “elder” I see myself as a servant. I am a servant to God and to His children!
Sooo ….. Where am I? Am I His servant? How mature am I? I can self-check my heart and see where I am … “As a person thinks in his heart, that is where he is.”
